Originating from East Turkestan this vessel is a primitive water cooler.
These pots are late c18 century making them late 1700’s in age.
The reason they are not glazed is because they were for storage of drinking water and the damp pottery cold the water as it evaporates - this causes the water inside to cool down.
This stunningly beautiful and very rare piece of pottery is a very collectible. Its surface decorations are created by hand and each one is unique.
