A superb large and deep bench build by hand for comfort over 100 years ago.
This fantastic bench is a very rare find. It has been restored just enough to keep its rustic patina but to still keep its historic integrity and characterful aesthetic.
Made from solid teak which is a hardwood this very sturdy bench would make a superb statement piece in an entrance hallway or kitchen. It could also be used outdoors in a covered garden seating area.
Wide and deep it could be used with the addition of seat cushions it could be used as a very comfortable sofa. There are historic marks of the passage of time across the surfaces of this bench. It is in excellent structural condition and will last for many generations. There are traces of red paintwork to the top horizontal rail, kept for historical integrity.
Believed to be a very collectible piece of Dutch colonial furniture. Found in Indonesia.
A superb item which will be treasured for years to come.
