Originating from Thailand in South East Asia these stunning ceramics were salvaged from a Shipwreck found between China and Indonesia.
This small jar is both a work of art and a time capsule.
Dimension, Height 13.5cm, diameter 10cm and Neck opening 2.4cm.
This particular jar has a historical chip on the base.
The vase would have originally had a monochrome hand-painted design underglaze but the passage of time and tides has worn this away etching the external surfaces to a matt finish. Each antique jar has a unique weather appearance due to its submerged history.
This small jar is both a work of art and a time capsule of marine archaeology.
Made from high-fired glazed stoneware, this Sawankhalok stoneware jar with small lug handles at the neck, with a monochrome iron hand-painted design and over time the vase has become heavy with calcium and mineral deposits.
