Antique French Castelnaudary Pots

Antique French Castelnaudary Pots

Antique French Boit Pot

These wonderfully decorative Antique French Castelnaudary Pots originate from France in the 1800's and truly delightful treasures.

These highly collectable urns have beautifully bright green tones and date from the 1890s. Historically they would have been used to store oil or grain and they come from the Castelnaudary area of France.

Due to their robust nature, they have survived the passage of time in kitchens, gardens and barns all over France. The pots will typically be cracked and historic repairs may be evident. The glaze is chipped and crack but we believe this creates the most beautiful patina.

Perfect left empty as a sculptural item on a console table or a wooden plinth - or fill them with blossom branches, cow parsley or poppies. Please note that these vessels are not waterproof and if using for fresh flowers you would need to insert a waterproof liner.

Please expect cracks and damage to the glaze, repaired cracks and chips. Their beauty is in their imperfect nature.
